The hidden art of welding

Welding is fundamental to engineering and manufacturing. Without the ability to make strong and durable connections between materials it would be impossible to produce the many different items we all rely on in our everyday lives – from the very large (buildings, pipelines, trains and bridges) to the very small (medical implants and electronic devices).

Taylor Engineering & Fabrications Ltd have extensive experience in all aspects of manufacture and repair of hydraulic cylinders. All processes are carried out ‘in house’ by qualified staff including all welding undertaken by coded welders.  We also have extensive experience in mechanical repairs on various makes of vehicles and bodies, 25 years’ experience in municipal parts sales and hydraulic cylinder repairs and over 25 years’ experience in Engineering and Fabrication.

We have been responsible for developing the adoption of new techniques and best practice in all industry sectors.  Our welding and joining expertise is broad, ranging from specialising in spares for municipal vehicles, bin lifting, hook and skip loading.  As a traditional Birmingham engineering firm we able to undertake all turning, milling, drilling, bending, guillotining and sawing up to 400mm diameter and offer a complete engineering and fabrication service.

We manufacture and undertake repairs to hydraulic cylinders including in-house testing facilities and have a full engineering and fabrication workshop and can produce items to drawings or pattern.
